Win for M'lou defeated Pink Diamond by three-quarters of a length to win the $54,000 Del Mar Kiwanis Purse on Thursday at Del Mar. Ridden by Victor Espinoza, Win for M'lou covered 5 furlongs on the turf in :56.03 and paid $61, $16.80 and $6.40 as the 29-1 longshot in a field of seven older fillies and mares.

One More Laugh was made the morning-line favorite for the $300,000 Cane Pace on Labor Day at Freehold Raceway. The winner of the Meadowlands Pace, One More Laugh drew the No. 1 post position and was made the 2-1 favorite for the opening leg of pacing's Triple Crown for 3-year-olds. Driver Tim Tetrick will handle the gelding.

Queen of the Creek and Awesome Maria won 1-mile divisions of the Riskaverse Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on the turf at Saratoga Race Course on Thursday. Queen of the Creek, ridden by Julien Leparoux and trained by Tom Proctor, led from the start and won by 3 1/2 lengths with a time of 1:33.94. She paid $10.40, $4.90 and $4.40, and earned $42,000 for owners Timothy B.

Hollywood Park will host the Oak Tree meet traditionally run at Santa Anita beginning Sept. 30. The Oak Tree Racing Association decided to move from its home since 1969 in Arcadia across town to Hollywood Park because of uncertainty about the condition of the main track at Santa Anita. The 42nd Oak Tree meet will run through Oct.

Fancy Point won the $70,000 Phil Johnson Stakes for 2-year-old fillies on Wednesday at Saratoga, beating Kathmanblu by 1 1/2 lengths. Fancy Point, ridden by Javier Castellano and trained by Will Phipps, ran 1 1-16 miles on the inner turf course in 1:42.78 and paid $9.70, $5.50 and $4.60. She earned $42,000 for the victory in her second career start.

Jockey Calvin Borel knew Rachel Alexandra was in trouble with a quarter-mile to go in the $300,00 Personal Ensign at Saratoga Race Course. The reigning Horse of the Year had just put away Life At Ten after a mile-long duel for the lead and was bearing down on the finish line. "I didn't feel any acceleration and I got worried," Borel said.

Just Jenda ran past Malibu Prayer in the stretch and drew off to win the $300,000 Molly Pitcher Stakes by 3 1/2 lengths at Monmouth Park on Sunday. Ridden by Terry Thompson and trained by Cindy Jones, the 4-year-old filly covered the 1 1/16 miles on a fast track in 1:43 2/5 and returned $8, $3 and $2.20.

Mike Smith has climbed aboard Richard's Kid just twice. Both times proved lucrative, with the 5-year-old winning the $1 million Pacific Classic for the second straight year. Richard's Kid outran Crowded House by three-quarters of a length to win the West's richest race Saturday at Del Mar.

Gourmet Dinner rallied to win the $100,000 Affirmed Division in the Florida Stallion Stakes on Saturday, and Awesome Feather also won by four lengths in the $100,000 Susan's Girl Division for fillies. Awesome Feather ran seven furlongs in 1:24 2/5. Gourmet Dinner's time was 1:25 3/5. Both horses are in position to sweep the three-tier Stallion Stakes series.

Afleet Express was making his bid, coming off the far turn, moving away from the rail and gaining the lead from Miner's Reserve just past the eighth pole in Saturday's $1 million Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. The "Midsummer Derby" was far from over. Fly Down had begun moving, too, passing horses on the outside as he made the turn for home.
